Background
The College was inaugurated by our former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on 17 July 2001. MMMC is the first Indo-Malaysian joint venture in private (professional) medical education and was established with the full support of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health. The college also had the support of experienced medical educationists from Manipal University which helped in the implementation of the medical programme. After the medical curriculum was fully consolidated, the college began its collaborative dentistry programme with Manipal University, in response to the acute need of dental professionals in Malaysia. In November 2008, the degree course in Dentistry was approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and the pioneer class of dental students to be admitted in September 2009. In line with the college vision to be a world class educational centre, MMMC will continue in its pursuit to provide quality programmes and services of an international standard.
