International Islamic University Malaysia Kulliyyah of Medicine
Background
The Kulliyyah of Medicine is located at two sites: The Teaching Annex in Jalan Hospital Campus (JHC), and the Bandar Indera Mahkota Campus (IMC).
The JHC was officially opened by HRH Sultan Pahang in 28 November 1997 (28 Rejab 1418). Currently, lectures for clinical students (Phase II and III) are conducted in this building. The JHC is located next to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA), which is also the main teaching hospital, with 659 beds.
Phase I of the medical programme (Years 1 and 2) is conducted in the IMC facilities. The Kulliyyah of Medicine at IMC was officially opened by HRH Sultan Pahang on 12 June 2004.
In Phases II and III of the medical programme (Years 3, 4 and 5), students will come into direct contact with patients under the supervision of clinicians and hospital specialists in the wards and clinics of HTAA and Hospital Sultan Ahmad Shah Temerloh. This is also done in some accredited hospitals and health centres throughout Pahang state.
